Add an installed Unified Reader or NEXT camera hub to your Anavio account, then give it a name and location.
You'll need the Full Access role, the device's serial number, and the destination site. For a reader, create the destination zone too; see Set up sites, zones, and time zones.
Have the installer finish power, network, and hardware connections first. Use the installation guides and network requirements for that work.
Add the device to your account
- Open Devices and select Add Device.
- Choose the serial number for the hardware you are adding:
- Unified Reader: Use the reader's serial number. Check Available Premium Licenses; a reader requires a premium license.
- NEXT camera hub: Use only the hub serial number, not individual camera serial numbers. The hub must have internet access on a network with DHCP enabled so it can obtain its network address.
- Enter Serial Number and select Add. Review the device type, model, and serial number shown in the list.
- Repeat for any other devices you want to add, then select Add Device to submit the listed devices.
If a required license is missing or the device cannot be added, contact support with your account ID, device serial number, and the displayed message.
Name a reader and choose its site and zone
- Open Devices → Doors. Open the reader's row menu and select Door Settings.
- Select Door Info.
- In Door Information, enter a Name (for example, "West Entrance").
- Select Site Name, then Zone Name within that site.

Use the same steps to rename or move an existing reader. For employee access, continue with Set up groups and assign access. For reader authentication settings, see Configure a door reader.
Name a hub and choose its site
Warning: Changing a hub's site also moves its associated cameras to that site. Choose a destination that is appropriate for every camera on the hub before confirming the change.
- Open Devices → Hubs. Open the hub's row menu and select Hub Settings.
- Select Hub Info.
- Enter a Hub Name (for example, "North Office Hub") and select Site Name. Hub Information offers site selection; it does not offer a Zone Name field.
Example hub details. This form selects a site for the hub. Select the image to view it full size. - Select Update. If you changed the site, review Confirm Site Change and select Proceed to accept it.
- Open Cameras within Hub Settings to see the cameras associated with that hub.
Use these steps again to rename or move the hub. Camera Setup contains the camera configuration controls; see Configure camera image and audio for that task.
