Choose how people authenticate at a Unified Reader, set the lock release interval, and adjust reader audio. These settings belong to a reader already installed and added to Anavio.
Use an account with permission to change device settings. Decide which credentials people will use and ensure those credentials and their access schedules are already assigned. For physical connections, use the door hardware settings reference and the installation guides.
Choose identification methods
An Identification Workflow defines the credentials used for entry. A single method can allow face or card authentication, for example. A combined workflow can require more than one method, such as a card and a face. Choose the combination approved for your site.
- Open Devices → Doors. Open the intended door's row menu and select Door Settings.
- Select Identification Workflow and review the existing entries before adding another.
- Select Add Identification Workflow.
- In Select Identification Methods, select the method or combination you need. Each method can appear only once in a workflow. Mobile is the method used for mobile-app unlocking; Cloud Key is a separate choice.
- Select Save Workflow, then review the workflow list.
Adding a workflow does not enroll a credential or assign door access. Use the relevant credential guide and Set up groups and assign access for those tasks. Keep existing methods until you have confirmed which ones the site needs; adding an entry does not replace the other entries.
Set the lock release interval
- In Door Settings, open Access Control.
- Enter the intended release interval in Lock Release Time, in seconds. The form allows a value up to 60 seconds.
- Select Update to save the setting.
Lock Release Time sets the release interval for entry. Door Open Timeout is a different setting: it defines how long the door may remain open before an alarm or notification. It depends on the door-contact setup; see Door contact/door open timeout settings.
Adjust reader audio
- In Door Settings, select Audio.
- Adjust Volume and select the Language for reader messages. Set Alarm as required by your site's policy.
- If needed, change Enable Audio in Live Video and Enable Audio in Playback for their respective uses.
- Select Update.
Read the reader's indicators
- Solid green: The reader reports that access was granted.
- Solid red: The reader reports denied access. Listen for the message, which may identify a schedule restriction or lockdown.
- Blinking yellow: Face authentication is in progress.
- Blinking green: The reader is attempting an update. Do not use or disconnect it during the update.
These indicators report reader status; they do not prove that a person passed through the door. See the Unified Reader status and audio guide for the full list. For an individual entry problem, use Fix a person's door access.
