In door settings you can configure the relay, request to exit, door contacts, and Wiegand input/output.
Relay
The device comes with an internal relay that you can connect directly to an electronic locking mechanism.
To activate the device’s internal relay
- Select Doors from the menu
- Select the door/device from the list
- Go to the Settings Tab
- Checkmark Internal Relay
- To save click on update.

To activate the device’s external relay on the Anavio secure i/o controller
- Select Doors from the menu
- Select the door/device from the list
- Go to the Settings Tab
- Checkmark I/O Relay 1 or 2
- To save click on update.
Request to exit button
If you are adding a request to exit (REX) button, here you can configure the settings.
- Select Doors from the menu
- Select the door/device from the list
- Go to the Settings Tab
- From the Exit button position dropdown list, select the following:
- None- If no exit button will be used
- Internal - If you are going to connect the REX button to the VA-UIR02A Reader input.
- External - if you are going to connect the REX button to the external Anavio I/O controller.
- Next select the exit button contact type from the dropdown list.
- Normally Open - Is a contact that does not flow current in its normal state. Energizing it and switching it on will close the contact, causing it to allow current flow.
- Normally Closed - Is a contact that flows current in its normal state. Energizing it and switching it on will open the contact, causing it to not allow current flow.
- 6. To save click on update.
Door Contact
Adding a door contact will allow the system to know when the door opens and closes and provides the ability to notify when a door was broken into or if the door was left opened.
If you are adding a door contact sensor, here you can configure the settings.
- Select Doors from the menu
- Select the door/device from the list
- Go to the Settings Tab
- From the Door Contact position dropdown list, select the following:
- None- If no door contact will be used.
- Internal - If you are going to connect the door contact to the VA-UIR02A Reader input.
- External - if you are going to connect the door contact to the external Anavio I/O controller.
- Next select the door contact type from the dropdown list.
- Normally Open - Is a contact that does not flow current in its normal state. Energizing it and switching it on will close the contact, causing it to allow current flow.
- Normally Closed - Is a contact that flows current in its normal state. Energizing it and switching it on will open the contact, causing it to not allow current flow.
- To save click on update.
Set the door open timeout - this is the time allowed for the door to remain open when a user is authenticated and allowed access.
- Select Doors from the menu
- Select the door/device from the list
- Go to the Settings Tab
- In seconds, set the maximum allowed time for the door to stay opened before sounding an alarm and sending notification.
- To save click on update.
Wiegand Input and Output
The Wiegand input will allow an external card reader to be connected to the Anavio VA-UIR02A Reader. In this case when the user presents the card on the external reader, the card number will be sent to the Anavio reader for processing.
The Wiegand output will allow the Anavio reader to connect to an external third party (ACU) access control unit. When using third party access control systems, the Anavio reader will send the user’s card number to the ACU.
To connect a third-party card reader to the Anavio reader:
- Select Doors from the menu
- Select the door/device from the list
- Go to the Settings Tab
- Checkmark Wiegand Input Enabled
- To save click on update.
To connect a third party ACU controller to the Anavio reader:
- Select Doors from the menu
- Select the door/device from the list
- Go to the Settings Tab
- Checkmark Wiegand Output Enabled
- To save click on update.
To set the Wiegand card format
- Select Doors from the menu
- Select the door/device from the list
- Go to the Settings Tab
- From the Wiegand Format dropdown list, select from 26, 34, or 37 Bit format
- To save click on update
