Adjust a NEXT camera's view, orientation, on-screen labels, and audio from Camera Settings. Image and analytics controls are grouped on Camera Setup; audio has its own page.
Use a desktop browser and an account with permission to change device settings. The camera must already be added and connected. Available controls depend on the camera model. These steps describe NEXT cameras that show PTZ Control and Region Of Interest above the preview.
Adjust the camera view
Warning: Changing the camera position, zoom, corridor mode, or orientation may make an existing detection area inaccurate. Review that area after changing the view; see Set up analytics and detection areas.
- Open Devices → Cameras. Open the camera's thumbnail menu and select Camera Settings.
Open Camera Settings for the camera you want to adjust. Camera names are examples. Select the image to view it full size. - Select Camera Setup and wait for the live preview.
- Select PTZ Control to adjust pan, tilt, and rotation with the arrow controls shown over the image. Watch the preview as you adjust the view.
- If Hardware Zoom is available, move its slider to frame the area you need. Use the autofocus control beside it when needed.
- For a tall, narrow view, turn on Corridor Mode. Under Orientation, use Mirror to reverse left and right, Flip to reverse top and bottom, or Auto Rotate to correct orientation for the camera's position.
- Wait for each change to finish before making another. These NEXT image controls send changes as you use them; they do not use the detection area's Update button.
Place date, time, and camera-name labels
OSD means on-screen display: text placed on the video image.
- On Camera Setup, find Date and Time (OSD).
- Select Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left, or Bottom Right, or select Off to hide it.
- Set Camera Name (OSD) in the same way. Choose another available corner if the date and time already occupy the position you want.
- Review the labels in the preview. Each selection is sent as you make it.
The camera-name label uses the camera's saved name. To change it, open Camera Info., edit Name, and select Update. Enter a name that identifies the view (for example, "Loading Area - East"). The enabled camera-name overlay is also included in exported video.
Enable or disable audio
- In Camera Settings, select Audio.
- Set Live & Recording Audio to ON or OFF, according to your site's audio-recording policy. This setting covers both live and recording audio.
- Select Update.
Use Set up analytics and detection areas to choose detections and their area. Use Manage recording, storage, and cloud backup for storage and backup choices. Those tasks do not require repeating the image setup.
