Create an archive of incident footage, download its player package, and check the downloaded video's integrity. You can also request a time-limited sharing link.
You need the Full Access, Manager, or Supervisor role and access to the relevant camera footage. Find the incident first through Search camera activity and play recordings.
Create and download the archive
Warning: Archives are temporary. Check the displayed expiry and download the incident before it expires; the published archive limit is seven days. A sharing link does not replace a retained download.
- Open the camera event's menu and select Archive Event.
Archive Event starts the saved-incident workflow. The event and camera names are examples. Select the image to view it full size. - In Archive Event, choose Start Time and End Time around the incident. You can adjust the timeline selection or enter the times. Check the selected period; one archive can cover no more than two hours.
- If useful, enter an Additional Note describing the incident. Select Add Archive.
- Select Go to Archives when offered, or open Archives. Locate the archive and review its camera and time range. Select its thumbnail to review available playback.
- Open the archive's menu and select Download. Wait for the download to finish and keep the resulting ZIP file.
Open the download and check integrity
- Extract the ZIP into a folder, keeping all of its files together.
- Open AnavioPlayer from that folder.
- Select the video in the player's left panel. The player checks the file before allowing playback.
- Read the verification indicator:
- Green check mark: The player reports that verification passed. Play the video and review the incident period.
- Red cross: Verification failed and playback is blocked. Keep the package and the displayed result, then contact support. Do not describe the file as verified.
This is a check of the exported file's integrity. It does not prove a person's identity, the authenticity of the depicted event, or legal admissibility. A failed check alone does not establish why verification failed.
Share the incident
Choose the intended recipient and the shortest useful validity period before sending. Do not assume that deleting an archive recalls a link already sent.
- In Archives, open the archive's menu and select Share.
- In Share Archived Video, enter the recipient's Email or phone number.
- Enter Validity and choose Minutes or Hours. Use a whole-minute period from one minute through twelve hours.
- Select Share Link. Review the response; a success message does not confirm that the recipient received or opened the message.
Link validity and archive expiry are separate settings. If you need to withdraw a link before its requested expiry, contact support for the supported options. This dialog does not offer a recall control.
For a download, shared link, or player problem, follow Fix video exports and shared links. Include the camera, selected period, archive expiry, and error or verification result.
