In the Video Wall and Live View pages, each camera tile includes a small status dot in the corner. This dot indicates the current connection state of the camera.
The camera automatically detects and selects the best streaming path— Peer to Peer (P2P) or Cloud Proxy—based on network conditions and availability. No manual configuration is required.
Blue Dot – P2P Streaming
- The camera is streaming directly from camera to the browser viewer using a peer-to-peer (P2P) connection.
- This means the live video is transmitted directly between the camera and the viewing client without passing through a cloud proxy.
- This mode offers lower latency and more efficient bandwidth usage when a direct connection can be established.
Green Dot – Cloud Streaming
- The camera is streaming via the cloud proxy.
- This occurs when a direct P2P connection cannot be established, and the stream is relayed through the cloud to maintain connectivity across different networks or restrictive environments.
Red Dot – Offline
- The camera is offline or disconnected.
- Check network connectivity or power status to restore connection.
