Installation best practices
For ADA compliance, install the Unified Intercom Reader 48” from the floor on a flat surface or single gang box.
Installing with mullion/wall install
1. Use the provided two (2) screws to attach the mounting plate to the wall. Use a level to assure proper mounting.
3. Connect Ethernet and I/O if used; strip and connect wires as necessary; refer to the wiring diagram. It is recommended to cut off stripped/tinned ends of any unused wires. Power is provided through an RJ-45 connector using a PoE PSE (Power Sourcing Equipment) input that meets the standard IEEE 802.3af (48V, 200mA standard). Install the waterproof RJ-45 cap as needed per the installation.
4. Feed the pigtail cable through the cutout opening in the back of the mount and snap the Unified Intercom Reader into the mounting plate.
5. Secure the Reader by tightening the captive screw on the mounting plate.
