Create a lockdown plan that identifies who may trigger it and which doors it affects. This guide covers configuration; operators should use Activate lockdown and return to normal operation when the plan needs to be used.
Use a Full Access account. Decide the intended doors, authorized operator groups, and lockdown duration with the people responsible for the site's response procedure. Create and review those groups first; see Set up groups and assign access.
Enable lockdown plans
- Open Account and find Access Control Settings.
- Turn Enable Lockdown Plan on.
- Enter Lockdown Plan Duration (Minutes). Use the duration approved for your site. A value of 0 means the lockdown remains in effect until an authorized operator ends it manually.
- Select Update.
This duration controls how long an activated lockdown lasts. It is separate from the workflow's validity, which controls how long the plan remains available to trigger.
Create a plan for selected doors
- Open Workflows and select Add Workflow.
-
In Trigger Type, select Lockdown Plan.
Select the Lockdown Plan trigger before choosing the authorized groups and actions. Select the image to view it full size. - Under Authorized Lockdown Groups, select Groups and choose the intended groups in Target Group(s). Review their membership carefully: this is the set authorized to initiate the plan.
- Under Validity, choose Expires On and set the intended expiry date and time, or choose Never Ends if the plan should remain available without an expiry date.
- In Workflow Action(s), select Lockdown Door.
- In Target Device(s), choose Filter Type → Door and select the doors in Select Door(s). To target a whole location instead, choose Zone or Site and select the intended zones or sites. Review the scope before saving.
- If the plan also needs text or email alerts, add Send Text Message or Send Email to Workflow Action(s). In Target Users for Workflow, choose Users or Groups and select the recipients. Alert recipients and groups authorized to trigger lockdown are separate selections.
- Enter a Workflow Description that identifies the plan and its purpose (for example, "Lockdown plan for the selected public entrances").
- Review the authorization groups, validity, actions, target doors, and any recipients. Select Add Workflow.
This procedure uses Lockdown Door so you can choose its target doors, zones, or sites. Do not substitute another lockdown action without confirming its intended scope.
Hand the plan to operators
Give the responsible operators the plan's description, covered doors, duration, and expiry choice. Tell them which groups authorize activation and who should authorize ending lockdown. Keep that information current when group membership or site coverage changes.
Important: Do not select Activate merely to finish configuration. Activation starts the configured actions and can change door access. Use the site's approved response procedure when operating the plan.
The Lockdown button can be visible to someone who is not authorized to trigger the plan. A saved workflow also does not confirm the resulting physical state of every door. Activation, deactivation, and checking the affected doors belong in Activate lockdown and return to normal operation.
