Use the Anavio mobile app to open a doorbell notification, see the visitor, talk with them, and decide whether to unlock the door.
Start with the app installed and signed in. Your administrator must have issued a Mobile Credential, added you to the Directory, and enabled the reader's push notifications. To unlock during a call, you also need schedule access to the door and the reader's Mobile Identification Workflow. Administrator setup belongs in Set up the intercom directory and doorbell notifications.
Answer a visitor's call
- When the doorbell notification arrives, open it in the Anavio app.
- Review the doorbell-event snapshot. Use it to check which entrance and visitor the notification concerns.
- Accept the call to open live video.
- Allow microphone access if prompted, then use the call's two-way audio to speak with the visitor.
- If you are authorized to admit the visitor, use the call's door-unlock control. Confirm the intended entrance before sending the request and confirm with the visitor that entry is possible.
The app can also offer unlocking from the event snapshot before a live conversation. Use your site's identity-checking procedure before admitting someone; a snapshot or successful unlock response is not proof that the visitor entered.
Note: On a first call, the app may ask for Local Networks permission. Granting it can disconnect that call. If this happens, ask the visitor to call again after you finish the permission prompt.
If the notification does not arrive
- Check that the app is signed in to the intended account. The Home page displays the account name.
- In your phone's settings for Anavio, check that Notifications are allowed.
- Ask your administrator to check your Mobile Credential, Directory entry, site and door access, and the reader's Send Push Notifications setting. Use Set up the intercom directory and doorbell notifications for these administrator checks.
- If the setup appears correct, report the affected door, call time and time zone, phone model, and app version. Note whether other recipients received the same call.
If you cannot talk or hear the visitor
If the visitor cannot hear you, check the phone's Microphone permission for Anavio. If you cannot hear the visitor, check the phone's output volume and whether sound is going to a connected headset. Tell your administrator which direction of audio is missing and whether live video is also affected.
If calls keep disconnecting or audio remains unavailable, report the exact symptom and time to support. If the call works but the door-unlock control is unavailable, have the administrator check door access and the reader's Mobile Identification Workflow. Reinstalling the app is not a substitute for those access settings.
