Use a schedule to control when people can enter with a face, card, or phone, or when a door stays unlocked for everyone.
You'll need permission to manage schedules, a reader already added to Anavio, and the site and doors you want to use. For credential access, set up the people or groups and their credentials first.
Decide the days and hours, then check the site's time zone under Sites.
Create a schedule
1. Choose how the door should work
- Open the main menu and select Schedules → User Schedule → Add Schedule.
- Enter a name—for example, "Lobby - Business Hours"—and an optional description.
- Select the site containing the doors.
-
Choose Open Door Automatically? based on your goal:
Your goal Choose Let selected people enter using a face, card, or phone during set hours No Keep the door unlocked so anyone can enter during set hours Yes - Select Next.
Credential access does not keep a door unlocked for everyone. If employees need access outside public opening hours, use a separate credential-access schedule.
2. Set the days and hours
In Assign WHEN:
- Enter your Start Time and End Time—for example, 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- Select the Days of the Week when those hours apply.
- Choose Active on Holidays: No to exclude dates in the Holidays list, or Yes to allow the time entry on holidays. See Set up holidays to manage those dates.
- Choose a Start Date. Leave End Date empty for an ongoing schedule, or enter an end date.
- Select Next, review the time summary, then select Next again.
3. Assign people, if needed
If you chose No for automatic opening, Assign WHO appears:
-
Select the people under Authorized User(s), or select an existing group under Authorized Group(s).
Credential-access example: select people or groups when automatic opening is No. Select the image to view it full size. - Select Next, review the assignment summary, then select Next again.
If you chose Yes, Anavio skips Assign WHO. Continue to Assign WHERE.
4. Select the doors and finish
- In Assign WHERE, select the doors under Access Door(s).
-
Leave Access Zone(s) unselected unless you want to include the doors in a zone. A zone groups doors at a site.
Example of the credential-access path. Select only the doors or zones you intend to include. Select the image to view it full size. - Select Next and review the assignments.
- Select Add Schedule to open the saved details.
Some details are saved during setup. If you leave partway through, check the schedule list before starting again.
Change or add hours
Open Schedules → User Schedule and select the schedule. Its When section lists each set of hours, days, and dates.
- Change hours: Open the time entry's row menu, select Edit, change the fields, then select Update.
-
Add hours: Select Add When, enter the hours, weekdays, holiday choice, and dates, then select Add. Use this for different weekend hours or another period within a day.
Add When groups the time settings in one form. Choose your own hours, days, dates, and holiday setting; Yes is only the default shown here. Select the image to view it full size. - Remove hours: Open the time entry's row menu, select Delete, and confirm. This removes that entry, not the whole schedule.
Changes apply to the people and doors assigned to the schedule. Review the other time entries so you do not leave hours active that you meant to remove.
Delete a schedule
Warning: Deleting a schedule cannot be undone. Other schedules and manual controls may still affect access. Deleting a schedule is not an emergency locking action.
- Open Schedules → User Schedule.
- Select the schedule's Delete Schedule icon.
- Check its name in the confirmation, then select Delete.
For holiday closures, see Set up holidays.
