Move your Anavio account to Microsoft Entra ID so users sign in with their Microsoft work accounts. An Entra administrator can start the migration, or an Anavio user can start it and ask an Entra administrator to grant consent.
This integration handles sign-in only. It does not create Anavio users or synchronize roles or groups. Each Anavio account can link to one Microsoft tenant, the organization's Entra environment.
Before you start
- Your organization needs an active Microsoft Entra ID tenant.
- The Anavio account must not already be migrated, and Anavio must not already appear in Microsoft Entra Admin Center → Enterprise Applications.
- The person starting in Anavio needs the Full Access or Manager role and their current Anavio sign-in credentials.
- If your organization uses Conditional Access, have the Entra administrator include Anavio in the necessary policies.
Sign-in change: Migration is a one-time setup for the organization. After migration, users sign in with Microsoft; local Anavio credentials are no longer used for sign-in.
Choose the path that matches the person starting the migration:
An Entra administrator starts the migration
- Sign in to Anavio with your current credentials. Open Settings → Account and select Manage through Entra ID.
Example account and domain. Use your own organization's account. - Sign in to Microsoft with your Entra administrator account.
- On Permissions requested, select Consent on behalf of your organization, then Accept.
- Back in Anavio, select Provide Admin Consent.
Continue with Provide Admin Consent after the first Microsoft sign-in. - Sign in again with the same Entra administrator account. On the second Permissions requested screen, select Accept.
Anavio confirms that the account is now handled by Entra. Continue to Microsoft sign-in.
An Anavio user starts with an administrator's help
1. Anavio user: start the request
- Sign in to Anavio with your current credentials. Open Settings → Account and select Manage through Entra ID.
- Sign in to Microsoft with your Entra work account. On Permissions requested, select Accept.
- Select My administrator has provided consent – Verify. Before the administrator grants consent, Anavio reports that admin consent has not yet been granted.
Use Verify again after your administrator completes the consent steps below. - Ask your Entra administrator to complete the next steps.
2. Entra administrator: grant consent
- Open Microsoft Entra Admin Center and go to Enterprise Applications → Anavio → Permissions.
- Select Grant admin consent for your organization.
- Sign in with your Entra administrator account. On Permissions requested, select Accept.
- Tell the Anavio user that you have granted consent so they can finish the migration.
3. Anavio user: finish the migration
- Return to Anavio and select My administrator has provided consent – Verify again.
- Look for the confirmation that the account is now handled by Entra.
The confirmation marks completion of the migration.
Microsoft sign-in
After either path completes, select Sign in with Microsoft on the Anavio sign-in screen and use your Microsoft work account.
