Use Door Activity to find the user or credential recorded at a door, the event time, and the recorded access result. You need access to Search and the relevant site's activity.
Find the door event
- Open Search → Door Activity.
- Select Filter. Under Date & Time, set the Start and End values around the event you want to investigate.
- Under Location & Device, choose the relevant site, zone, or door.
- If needed, narrow User & Access with Users/Visitors, Credential, or Result. Credential offers Face, Card, and Mobile. Result includes Granted and specific denied results. To find an unrecognized attempt, leave the user selection open.
- Select Apply. Review USER, RESULTS, DATE & TIME, DOORS, ZONE, SITES, and CREDENTIALS. Use the page controls to review further results.
- Select the matching row to open Door Event. Review the recorded person, time, location, and credential. User Details opens an identified person's record; it is unavailable for Unknown User.
- Use Play Event when you need the associated video. For a wider camera investigation, continue with Search camera activity and play recordings using the same location and time.
Read the access result
RESULTS may contain a reason as part of its text. Keep the exact wording when recording the incident.
| Recorded result | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Granted | An access grant was recorded. It does not prove the person passed through the door. |
| Denied - Not scheduled | Review the person's access assignment and the attempted time. |
| Denied - Card Error | Review the card and supported reader configuration. |
| Denied - Suspended | Review the user's status with the responsible administrator. |
| Denied - In Lockdown | Refer the event to the lockdown operator. |
| Denied - Spoof Attack | This is the system's recorded classification. The label alone does not establish an intentional attack. |
| Denied | This displayed result provides no more specific reason. Do not substitute a guessed cause. |
For corrective actions, follow Fix a person's door access. Doorbell, Lockdown Started, and Lockdown Ended are also activity results; they are not records of a person entering.
Note: A recorded name or credential identifies the association in the event. It does not independently prove who was physically present. Available footage can provide context, but a video control does not guarantee that the recording is still available.
